The drive

Maleny-Kenilworth Road is State Route 22, signed as Tourist Drive 22, and it runs 37 km (23 mi) in this drive from Maleny to just inside Kenilworth. The full road is 40.7 km. It leaves Maleny at about 480 m and falls to 99 m as it follows the Mary River valley down the south-western side of the Blackall Range.

The road passes Witta, Conondale and Cambroon on the way. The bends come along the edge of the Conondale Range, with 220 m of the road steeper than 15% and 620 m at 10 to 15%.
