Indian River Drive
Indian River Drive · Fort Pierce → Jensen Beach
The drive
Indian River Drive is CR 707, a narrow two-lane that runs south from Fort Pierce along the Indian River Lagoon to Jensen Beach. It sits at the water's edge under oaks and palms, past riverfront homes and docks.
The speed limits are low and cyclists are frequent, so it is a drive to take slowly. The lagoon is also eating at the road: king tides have washed out the embankment beside South Indian River Drive in Fort Pierce, and crews repaired it with the road open. An earlier erosion closure ran from Walton Road to the Martin County line.
