The drive

Coolamon Scenic Drive is a back road through the Byron hinterland, 17 km (11 mi) from Mullumbimby to the Hinterland Way near Bangalow. It runs through farmland and rainforest on a narrow, winding road, with about 1,400 feet of climb on mostly gentle bends and one twisty stretch.

It passes through Coorabell, and locals know part of it as Tunnel Road. It is a quiet road most of the time, and Byron Shire Council has described it as winding.

Trucks are asked to use Myocum Road instead.
