The drive
This is a narrow country road through Old Florida. CR 346 runs east from Micanopy, the end nearer Gainesville, and CR 325 turns south through the village of Cross Creek, between Orange Lake and Lochloosa Lake. It ends at US 301 in Island Grove.
Oaks hung with Spanish moss shade the road, which has no shoulders. A short way south of Cross Creek is Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings Historic State Park, the farmhouse of the Pulitzer Prize-winning author, on the eastern shore of Orange Lake. CR 325 crosses Cross Creek itself on a 1940 bridge, and the route is part of the Old Florida Heritage Highway.

- The road is narrow with no shoulders, so keep speed down.
- Rawlings State Park is at 18700 South County Road 325. Hourly house tours were listed Thursday through Sunday, except in August and September; there's a small per-car entry fee.
