Drives Ontario Toronto, Niagara and Southern Ontario
Forks of the Credit Road
Mississauga Road · Highway 10 → Belfountain
The drive
Forks of the Credit Road is a short, tight run on the Niagara Escarpment in the Caledon Hills. It leaves Highway 10 in Caledon, drops into the Credit River valley, and climbs the far side into Belfountain. The drive is 3.9 miles and takes about 10 minutes, with twisty stretches near the start, in the middle and toward the end.
Its best-known feature is a tight hairpin in the valley. The road is posted as a no heavy truck route, and a truck with a trailer has gotten stuck on that bend and closed the road. Weekends bring motorcycles and cyclists, so it rewards an unhurried pace.
It pairs well with Hockley Road, the next valley road along the escarpment.
