The drive

South Coast Highway between the Valley of the Giants Road turn and Denmark is 50 km (31 mi) of easy bends through karri forest and farmland, about 45 minutes. The router also calls this stretch South Western Highway or Route 1. There are no large towns between the two ends, and the drive is about the forest rather than the corners.

The forest between Walpole and Denmark is described as never logged, a mix of towering karri and red tingle. Nornalup lies about 8 km east of Walpole and 49 km west of Denmark, on the Frankland River where it enters Nornalup Inlet. Side roads lead down to bays and beaches such as Peaceful Bay, and the granite beaches of Greens Pool and Elephant Rocks are near Denmark. The drive ends in Denmark.
