The drive

From Walpole the drive heads east on South Coast Highway and then turns onto Valley of the Giants Road into the tingle forest, 17 km (11 mi) in about 15 minutes. The Valley of the Giants lies about 15 km east of Walpole and is a dead-end spur, so the drive ends on the road before the car park.

The last few kilometres are tight and shaded, with one twisty stretch through the forest. The Valley of the Giants Tree Top Walk is an elevated walkway through the canopy, and a ground-level boardwalk leads through the Ancient Empire. The trees are mostly towering karri and red tingle. The walk is open daily, 9 am to 5 pm, with extended hours from 26 December to 26 January.
