The drive

Pinjarra Williams Road climbs from the Swan Coastal Plain at Pinjarra up the Darling Scarp to Dwellingup, 23 km (14 mi) in about 25 minutes. The tightest bends come in the first few kilometres out of Pinjarra as the road rises into jarrah forest; after that the curves ease and the forest carries the drive.

Dwellingup is a small town in jarrah forest near the Murray River, where the Bibbulmun Track and the Munda Biddi Trail meet. The Dwellingup Trails and Visitor Centre is the place for maps and advice, and the town has Treetops Adventure, the Forest Discovery Centre and the Hotham Valley Tourist Railway. Lane Poole Reserve, on the Murray River, is nearby for swimming, canoeing and picnics. The road continues on to Williams, but this drive ends at Dwellingup.
