Cape Naturaliste Road
Cape Naturaliste Road · Dunsborough → Cape Naturaliste
The drive
Cape Naturaliste Road is the short run from Dunsborough to the headland at the north end of the Leeuwin-Naturaliste coast. It covers 12.7 km (8 mi) in about 15 minutes, with a few bends through Leeuwin-Naturaliste National Park. The drive ends on the road before the Cape Naturaliste Lighthouse car park.
The limestone lighthouse was first lit in 1904. It is a 20 m tower of stone quarried at nearby Bunker Bay, and it still has its original first-order Fresnel lens. It was staffed until 1996 and is on the Western Australia Heritage Register.
