The drive

Mundaring Weir Road links the hills town of Mundaring to Kalamunda, 23 km (14 mi) of single-carriageway road through the Darling Range. It is part of Tourist Drive 207, the Darling Range Tourist Drive, and it runs through state forest and past small farms and bush localities such as Hacketts Gully and Paulls Valley. The road gives the weir its name: it is the main way in to Mundaring Weir, though the spur down to the weir itself is not part of this drive.

The drive starts in Mundaring and heads south and then west, with continuous bends and dips between tall trees. The road is rated a classic run by Perth riders, and it has two livelier stretches near the start. It finishes at the edge of Kalamunda, where the town's cafés make an easy stop. Beelu National Park lies close by, and the Bibbulmun Track can be walked from the weir area.
