Drives Texas East Texas and the Piney Woods
FM 768: Jacksonville to Rusk
FM 768, Corinth Road · Jacksonville → Rusk
The drive
FM 768 is a 16-mile farm road between Jacksonville and Rusk in Cherokee County, and East Texas riders have long called it the Queen of Motorcycle Roads. It starts in Jacksonville as Corinth Road, near Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church at the top of the route, and runs south-east out of town into the woods.
From there it's a string of reversing curves and short climbs, with pine and hardwood close to the road on both sides, down through the small community of Gallatin, where it's Chandler Street, and on to Rusk. It finishes on FM 768 just north of the US 84 and Highway 110 junction in town. It's the twistiest of the East Texas forest drives, though by mountain standards it's sweeping rather than tight.

Good to know
- The surface changes from stretch to stretch, and mud and gravel can collect in the turns, especially after rain.
- The trees come right up to the road and the views can distract: keep your eyes on the curves and your car in its lane.
