The drive

This drive takes the quiet way down the west side of Canandaigua Lake. From the city of Canandaigua at the north end, West Lake Road, County Road 16, runs south close to the water, past Onanda Park, the Town of Canandaigua's 80-acre park, which West Lake Road splits in two between its wooded upland and its lakefront.

Farther south the route joins Highway 21, which runs along the western side of the lake valley above the water, down to the hamlet of Woodville, about 3 miles north of Naples, near the south end of the lake.

It ends in the village of Naples, in the southernmost part of the Canandaigua Lake valley. Naples is grape country, known for its grape pies and for the Naples Grape Festival, held every September since 1961.
