Presque Isle: Erie
PA 832 · Presque Isle entrance → Perry Monument
The drive
Presque Isle is a peninsula on Lake Erie, and Pennsylvania's only seashore, according to the park. Its neck joins the mainland four miles west of downtown Erie. This 7.5-mile drive begins just inside the park, follows the lake side of the peninsula past the Presque Isle Lighthouse, and ends beside the Perry Monument.
The park's full road loop is about 13 miles, so the drive covers only part of it. It takes about 25 minutes as a sweeping drive with mostly gentle curves and one twisty stretch. A concession at the Perry Monument offers a scenic tour of Lake Erie; the park office has prices and schedule.
