The drive

E99 runs down the Gulf of Oman coast from Dibba to Khor Fakkan, 31 km (19 mi) in about half an hour. The Hajar Mountains rise on the right and the sea lies on the left as you head south, and the road passes through Al Aqah, Al Badiyah and low fishing villages, with a roundabout in each town.

Al Badiyah is the village of the Al Badiyah Mosque, a mud and stone building that Fujairah's heritage department dates to 1446 and that is described as the oldest mosque in the country, still used for daily prayers. The drive stays on E99 and ends at Khor Fakkan, a Sharjah exclave on the coast known for its white sand beaches. It is more a coastal cruise than a twisty road.
