The drive

E89 runs north from Masafi through the Hajar foothills to Dibba on the east coast, 34 km (21 mi) in about half an hour. It is a wide, smooth road with gentle curves, a relaxed mountain-valley cruise rather than a twisty one. Masafi sits at the inland entrance of Wadi Ham, and the road leaves it for Dibba on the east coast.

For part of the way the route follows the Dibba Truck Road, E189, which is signed for heavy vehicles, so trucks share the carriageway. The drive ends in Dibba, where E99 begins the coast road south toward Khor Fakkan. Masafi itself is known for its Friday Market, about 5 km west of the town on the Dhaid road.
