Cape San Blas Road

The drive
Cape San Blas Road runs south from US 98 beside St. Joseph Bay as CR 30A, then rounds the cape and heads north up the St. Joseph Peninsula. It is a flat road between bay marsh and Gulf dunes, with beach houses on stilts.
The drive covers 17.5 miles and ends short of T.H. Stone Memorial St. Joseph Peninsula State Park, which has beaches, camping and cabins. The road is the only way onto the peninsula.
At the Stump Hole, waves wash over the rock wall in storms, and hurricanes have closed the road there before.
