Old Canada Road: Route 201
US 201 · Bingham → Jackman
The drive
US 201 follows an old travel corridor between Maine and Quebec, and this stretch of the Old Canada Road Scenic Byway runs north from Bingham to Jackman. It runs beside the Kennebec River and Wyman Lake, and the byway as a whole passes Solon, Bingham, Moscow, Caratunk, West Forks, Jackman and Moose River.
At The Forks the Dead and Kennebec Rivers meet, and the area is well known for whitewater rafting. There the highway winds away from the river and runs up into the north woods mountains. Before Jackman, the road peaks at the Attean Pond Lookout, a popular rest area.
