The drive

Highway 247 is a paved two-lane road that runs east along the north bank of the Qu'Appelle River, here from Highway 47 to Highway 9, 30.7 miles. Like other 200-series Saskatchewan highways, it mainly serves recreational areas.

It follows the northern shore of Crooked Lake, past Exner's Twin Bays, Moose Bay, Crooked Lake Provincial Park and Sunset Beach, then runs along the north side of Round Lake through West End, Pelican Shores and Bird's Point. The valley around Crooked and Round lakes is up to 450 feet deep and a mile wide. Crooked Lake Provincial Park has a campground, beach and boat launch on the lake.
