The drive

Warwoman Road is the quiet east side of Clayton. It leaves town and runs east for nearly 13 miles through the Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest, following Warwoman Creek, to meet Georgia Highway 28. Motorcycle road guides describe it as rolling Blue Ridge foothills, with dense forest and pasture, and it earns a 4 out of 5 rating there.

About three miles out of Clayton you pass Warwoman Dell, a Forest Service day-use area on Warwoman Creek with picnic shelters and an easy 0.4-mile nature trail with structures built by the Civilian Conservation Corps. The Bartram Trail crosses the road here, and a short walk on it leads to Becky Branch Falls. Farther on the road crosses the West Fork of the Chattooga River.

The curves are mostly gentle, with a couple of tighter stretches, and the drive takes about 25 minutes. There is little traffic. It ends at Highway 28, which runs north toward Highlands, North Carolina.
