The drive

This drive runs from Esperance east across the coastal plain and then south into Cape Le Grand National Park, 61 km (38 mi) on sealed road to Lucky Bay. The bends are gentle; the draw is the coast and the granite. The road from Esperance and the main park road to Lucky Bay are sealed.

Inside the park the road passes Frenchman Peak, a 262 m granite peak with a steep walk to the summit and wide views over the park and the Recherche Archipelago. Side roads lead to Hellfire Bay, Thistle Cove and Le Grand Beach, and Lucky Bay itself has white sand and blue water. The drive ends on Lucky Bay Road before the car park.
