Drives Wyoming Laramie, Lander and Southern Wyoming
Snowy Range Road: WY-130
WY 130 · Centennial → Saratoga
The drive
WY 130 climbs west from Centennial into the Snowy Range, in the Medicine Bow Mountains, tops out at 10,800 feet, and then descends to Saratoga. Lake Marie is on the way, and the road runs past Libby Flats.
It is 47.3 miles and about an hour, with mostly gentle curves and 3,500 feet of climb. A 12-mile stretch over the summit is closed each winter.
WYDOT closes the section in late autumn because deep snow makes plowing impractical and traffic is low.
Along the way
