The drive

Lakeshore Road crosses the Lake Mead National Recreation Area from Boulder Beach west to Las Vegas Bay, about 11 miles of rises and curves over desert hills with views of Lake Mead. The National Park Service lists it, with Northshore Road, as a paved scenic drive: roads that wind through mountains, desert basins and canyons.

It is a two-lane road and a leisurely drive with mostly gentle curves. The drive ends where Lakeshore Road meets Northshore Road, which leads north along the lake's red rock shoreline between Callville Bay and Echo Bay.
