The drive

This 38 km (23 mi) drive heads west from Weston Creek into the Brindabella foothills. Cotter Road drops to the Cotter River, Brindabella Road winds through pine plantations, and Uriarra Road brings the drive back toward Coombs. It is a short mountain run for Canberra, with about 2,100 feet of climbing and a moderate number of tight bends.

Brindabella Road is the main access between Uriarra Village and Canberra. It runs on to the Brindabella Range and Tumut in New South Wales, but only the sealed ACT part is part of this drive; the final 8.7 km to the border is unsealed and not included here.

Cyclists use these roads, and tight bends are common.
